Below is a table to show how Covid-19 is affecting various countries – those which have suffered >200 deaths in the last 7 days (as of 14th March 2021).
Some countries were not included in this dataset from https://ourworldindata.org/coronavirus-source-data including major nations such as USA, and countries suffering at the moment such as Czechia.
Looking from the left on the table are shown the country name, the number of deaths on average per day for the last 7 days per million of population, the ‘Growth’ in deaths in the last 7 days compared to the previous 7 days, and a trend chart and a heat map for each country covering the dates since 1st Jan 2021.
Slovakia have extremely high rates of Covid deaths, but their growth rate is small (at 5.6%). They appear to be turning things around. Hungary, Bulgaria, Moldova, Bosnia, and Poland will catch up thanks to their higher growth rates.
A country such as Jordan has a very high death rate (5.4 per million per day) AND growth week on week of 71% which indicates in the next few weeks at least they will be suffering ever increasing death rates. They look to be in the worst position of any country in the world at the moment.
Brazil are losing 8.6 people per million population per day with Covid AND they have a 26.5% week on week growth rate AND they have a very large population of 211 million people; many more people will die in Brazil in the short term.
The UK have a death rate of 2.2 per million population per day at the moment, but that rate is falling by 39% week on week. Spain have 3.4 people per million population dying each day, but their rate is falling by over 40% week on week.
Greece have done relatively well throughout the pandemic, but now they have 4.4 people dying per million population per day and a weekly growth rate of over 40%. Italy have 5.5% dying per million population per day, and still have growth of over 10%.
